Following the physical and functional changes to port activities, the city-port relationship is undergoing a transformation in the light of the recent legal provisions necessitating integration between the port master plans and those of the city.

At a national level the Centre promotes debate regarding the analysis and comparison of port area planning with particular attention to similar international examples.
