Co-operation with other cities....

The Centre promotes bilateral relationships between the city of Venice and other cities on water, with the aim of developing research activities and work opportunities on themes of interest to all.

Sydney
In co-operation with the City of Venice and promoted by the Consorzio Venezia Nuova and the Ministry for the Arts of New South Wales, the yearly Max Kelly Grant has been launched for young graduates. Dedicated to the Australian scholar Max Kelly, who died in 1997, the grant is intended to develop themes common to the cities of Sydney and Venice (1997-2001).

Rio de Janeiro
In co-operation with the Rio City Council and that of Venice, two bilateral seminars were organised on themes common to the two cities, leading to an agreement signed by both (1999).

Berlin
"Wasser in der Stadt" was a cycle of conferences on the relationship between city and water, promoted in 2000 together with Wasserstadt GmbH, the firm responsible for transforming vast waterfront areas in Berlin.

Seoul
The Centre has been collaborating with Korean institutions organising seminars with the aim creating a network of urban centres on water in Northeast Asia, called Aquapolis (1999).
